Connect Metamask to Fantom in These Simple Steps

Step 1: Install Metamask Extension

To start off, make sure you have the Metamask browser extension installed on your browser. If you don’t have it already, go ahead and install it from the official Metamask website.

Step 2: Create a Fantom Wallet

Next, you’ll need to create a Fantom wallet. There are a few options for this, but the most popular ones are the official Fantom wallet and the Spooky wallet. For the purposes of this guide, we’ll be using the Spooky wallet.

To create a Spooky wallet, go to the Spooky website and click on “Create New Wallet”. Follow the instructions to set up your wallet and make sure to save your seed phrase in a safe place.

Step 3: Add Fantom Network to Metamask

Now that you have your Fantom wallet set up, it’s time to add the Fantom network to Metamask. To do this, click on the Metamask extension icon in your browser and click on “Settings”. From there, scroll down and click on “Networks”.

Next, click on “Add Network” and fill in the following information:

  • Network Name: Fantom Opera
  • New RPC URL: https://rpc.fantom.network
  • Chain ID: 250
  • Symbol: FTM
  • Block Explorer URL: https://ftmscan.com

Once you’ve filled in all the fields, click “Save”. You will find the Fantom network added to your list of networks in Metamask.

Step 4: Connect Metamask to Your Fantom Wallet

The final step is to connect your Metamask wallet to your Fantom wallet. To do this, make sure you’re on the Fantom Opera network in Metamask (you can switch networks by clicking on the network dropdown in the top right corner).

Next, click on the Metamask extension icon and click on “Connect Wallet”. From there, click on “Connect to WalletConnect” and then click on “Scan QR Code”. Use your Fantom wallet to scan the QR code that appears on the screen.

That’s it! You are connected to your Fantom wallet through Metamask Account. You can now use your Metamask wallet to interact with dApps on the Fantom network.
